Update from the Executive Headteacher 22/6/20
Dear Parents
I was delighted to hear on Friday evening’s Coronavirus Briefing that Gavin Williamson the Secretary of State for Education announced that all children will return to school in September.
All members of the whole federation staff have really missed the buzz of having all the children in school, we miss their little characters and smiling faces.
Over the coming weeks we will work on planning an adapted learning environment to ensure that we can welcome all our pupils back in a safe way for the new academic year. As we receive further guidance from the Department for Education and Devon County Council we will update you on how are plans are coming together.

It has been a delight to welcome more pupils back to school across the federation this week. Following extensive planning, risk assessment and staff training over the past month the pupils and staff adapted brilliantly to the new Socially Distanced school.

I have put several photographs of the pupil ‘bubbles’ onto the five school websites of our federation. What has made me smile the most is the way the children have adapted to playtimes – finding enjoyment in play ground games that staff and parents may have taken part in when we were younger, such as skipping ropes and hoops.

Even the youngest members of our school communities have taken on board the new 2m rules and have enjoyed encouraging each other to keep one another safe. They have been very responsible about queuing safely and washing their hands diligently. I am so very proud of them.

Thank you for your continued support. Please keep looking at the school website homepage and the Parent/Coronavirus tabs (keep your phone landscape to ensure you see the menu clearly) for regular updates.
With best wishes from Mrs Gray

PLEASE FIND AN IMPORTANT UPDATE LETTER REGARDING THE PHASED REOPENING OF OUR SCHOOL ON THE CORONAVIRUS PAGE WITHIN THE PARENT TAB. If you can't see the menu of this website please turn your mobile phone or tablet to landscape view and then you should be able to see the menu clearly.

Please continue to look after your mental health during the school closure. Ideas are on the Parents-Coronavirus page.

If you would like to share some of your home learning with us please send it to admin@farway.devon.sch.uk. The teachers will choose some pieces to include in a special scrapbook for this unusual time.

During the school closure please share an Act of Worship every Friday morning. Although we cannot physically gather together and worship at school like we normally do, we can come together as a school community, to worship and pray each week by using our weekly assembly at home. You may use it at a time suitable for you or at 11.45am every Friday so that we can all ‘sit together’ and use the assemblies in our own homes as a joint community. This will provide a time to remember each other, our school community and all that is going on around us. The Act of Worship is in the Parents - Coronavirus tab of the website.

Coronavirus - SCHOOL IS NOW CLOSED - unless you have received an invitation for childcare which will take place at Branscombe CE Primary School. Ideas for activities to do at home are in the Parents - Coronavirus tab on this website.

If your situation changes over the coming weeks and your role becomes one from the keyworkers list please email admin@farway.devon.sch.uk.
THE LIST OF CONFIRMED KEYWORKERS IS ON THIS LINK https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/closure-of-educational-settings-information-for-parents-and-carers/closure-of-educational-settings-information-for-parents-and-carers

- a high temperature - you feel hot to touch on your chest or back
- a new, continuous cough - this means you have started coughing repeatedly.
Do not go to GP or pharmacy or hospital or phone 111 unless you feel it is an emergency. You do not need to test for Coronavirus if you are staying at home.
